Supervalu 3Q Profit up 25%
Eden Prairie, Minn. Supervalu Inc. said Tuesday its third-quarter profits rose almost 25%, but it reduced its full-year guidance.
Supervalu said it earned $141 million in the three months ended Dec. 1 from $113 million, during the same period last year.
Revenue dropped 4.2% to $10.21 billion, down from $10.66 billion a year ago, during a quarter that included one less week of the company's acquired Albertson’s operations. Same-store sales rose 0.5%, not counting fuel sales. For the full year it expects same-store sales to rise 0.5% to 1%.
