Study: Wal-Mart Is the “Stickiest” Retailer

7/27/2005

Columbus, Ohio, Retail Forward’s ShopperScape Scorecard calls Wal-Mart the “stickiest” retailer in the United States. The research firm’s Scorecard measures the ability of best-in-class retailers to address various types of consumers and keep their repeat business.

On an ascending “stickiness” scale of one to 10, Wal-Mart scored an eight. Supermarkets scored high in the report, too. Retail Forward found that over 90% of consumers shopping a particular conventional supermarket will shop the same store again within four weeks. Specialty retailers scoring high on the stickiness scale include Victoria’s Secret, Babies “R” Us and Hallmark.
