Study reveals Walmart is least loved on social media

NEW YORK, NY -- Walmart has endured its fair share of criticism in the press, and now a new study reveals that the world's largest retailer has garnered some negative views in the realm of social media.


Accordin to Amplicate, an online opinion collating resource that claims to accountfor more than 80 million public opinions of social media users, there has been over 9,985 negative Walmart opinions (http://amplicate.com/hate/walmart) expressed on Twitter, Facebook and Amplicate within the last 3 months.


Amplicate reported that comments on Walmart include working conditions complaints, low salaries, low quality products and poor customer service. Furthermore, while there were positivie opinions to account for 34% of Walmart's ratings, this was below the 47% average for all U.S. Department stores, said Amplicate.


Walmart has held the bottom position in the Top 20 US Department Stores http://amplicate.com/services/8791-top-department-stores-in-us/ for the last 6 months, whereas their competitor Costco Wholesale (COST) has held the number one spot with a love rating of 84%.



Amplicate said it ranks the most discussed US Department Stores to show how the Top 20 compare against each other in terms of public love, reach and absolute opinion.
