Study: Nearly all consumers research online
Washington, D.C. – Consumers research a purchase heavily online prior to making a purchase. According to a new study from business mentoring firm Score, almost all (97%) consumers search online for products and services.
In a sign that “omnichannel” is more than a buzzword, 91% of consumers have visited a store because of an online experience, and 88% have been influenced by an online review. Seventy percent of consumers have compared prices online, and 37% use the Internet to find a store at least once a month.
Mobile retail is also a real phenomenon. Four out of 5 consumers have used a smartphone to shop and 96% have researched a product or service on their phone. About three-quarters (73%) of mobile searches trigger follow-up sharing, calls, sales or store visits.
