Straight Talk Wireless encourages Walmart shoppers to give a minute for Make-A-Wish program

For the third year in a row, leading U.S. no-contract cell phone service provider Straight Talk Wireless will donate $1 to Make-A-Wish for every demonstration given at more than 3,000 Walmart stores nationwide on Saturdays in September as part of the “Give A Minute, Help Make-A-Wish” program.

“The ability to give consumers the opportunity to enrich their local community, is immeasurable,” said F. J. Pollak, president and CEO of TracFone Wireless. “For a third year in a row, Straight Talk is honored to continue its support of Make-A-Wish and assist in making children’s wishes come true.”

Every Saturday in September between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. beginning Sept. 6, Straight Talk Wireless will donate $1 to Make-A-Wish for every customer who takes a minute to learn about Straight Talk at any one of more than 3,000 participating Walmart stores nationwide. With the help of consumers, this program has raised more than $2 million dollars in the last two years to grant wishes for Make-A-Wish kids with life-threatening illnesses. The goal again this year is to raise $1 million in four Saturdays.

"Once again, Straight Talk is leading the charge to help us grant incredible wishes that help children with life-threatening medical conditions," said David Williams, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish America. "The overwhelming support of communities throughout the country has made this campaign such a success for the last two years. We are excited to see that level of engagement grow exponentially this year, helping us grant even more wishes.”

Available exclusively at Walmart, Straight Talk offers the same phones, including the latest smartphones with 4G LTE+ nationwide coverage on one of America’s largest and most dependable networks for half the cost. Plans include a $45, 30-day option with unlimited talk, text and data, which includes the first 3GB at high speed.
