Store Offers Free Furniture if Cubs Win

Chicago SuitePlay, a Chicago-area retailer of home entertainment furniture, is offering a full rebate on all purchases made at its four stores through April 15 if the Cubs become world champions, according to Promo magazine.

The promotion is similar to a sales stunt Jordan’s Furniture ran with the Boston Red Sox last season. The response to that promotion helped inspire this one, SuitePlay said. SuitePlay expects its sales to double during the promotional period, when it will be introducing a new line of outdoor furniture. The chain is fully insured against potential losses. Reimbursements won’t include tax and delivery fees, the company said.
