Staples names new treasurer
FRAMINGHAM, Mass. Staples announced the promotion of Lisa Scopa to VP, treasurer. Scopa, formerly director of corporate financial planning and analysis, will report to John Mahoney, vice chairman and chief financial officer.
"Lisa has demonstrated great leadership at Staples," said Mahoney. "Through her diverse experience across our business unit, corporate finance and international finance teams, Lisa will play an important part in our success in the years to come."
After joining Staples in 2001, Scopa held increasing roles of responsibility in financial planning and analysis and became the director of corporate FP&A in 2005. Prior to Staples, she held a variety of positions in finance and corporate development at IBM, IBM Lotus Software, Hearst Corp. and Sterling Winthrop Inc.
Scopa succeeds Nick Hotchkin who has been appointed SVP finance for Staples U.S. retail business.
