Staples names Goodman EVP human resources

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. Staples announced that Shira Goodman will become EVP human resources effective May 1, responsible for Staples’ global HR strategies and programs.

Goodman, formerly EVP marketing, will succeed Susan Hoyt who, after 13 years of HR leadership at Staples, will be retiring in September. Goodman will report directly to Ron Sargent, Staples chairman and CEO.

Goodman joined Staples in 1992 and has served in a number of leadership roles at the company. Since 2001, she has served as EVP marketing responsible for the strategic, creative, operational and financial aspects of all Staples’ marketing programs. Recently, Goodman has also lead the company’s global business integration efforts following Staples’ acquisition of Corporate Express last year.
