Staples announces new exec appointments

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. Staples has announced the appointments of Steven Bussberg to SVP Staples Business Delivery, Elaine Bruzios to SVP finance for North American Delivery and Pete Howard to SVP Staples Southern Europe.

Bussberg will direct the overall operations of Staples Business Delivery, which serves small business and home office customers through Staples.com and catalogs.

After joining Staples in 1990, Bussberg has held roles of increasing responsibilities in finance and North American Delivery. He previously served as director of financial planning and analysis and vice president of finance for North American Delivery. He was named SVP finance for North American Delivery in 2009.

Bruzios will be responsible for the financial strategy and business planning efforts of North American Delivery, which consists of the Staples Advantage, Staples Business Delivery and Quill business units.

Bruzios joined Staples in 1995 and held roles of increasing responsibilities in corporate finance where she was named VP assistant corporate controller in 2008. Prior to Staples, Bruzios served as audit manager for KPMG.

Howard will direct the overall operations of Staples Southern Europe, which serves business and home office customers across Web, catalog, contract and retail channels in France, Spain, Portugal and Italy.

Howard joined Staples in 2000 as VP sales and marketing for Staples Business Delivery, which serves U.S. small business and home office customers through Staples.com and catalogs. In 2005 he was named SVP Staples Business Delivery responsible for the overall operations of the business. Prior to joining Staples, Howard was VP marketing for Ross-Simons, a multi-channel retailer of jewelry and gifts, and held various marketing positions with Digital Equipment Corp., The Bradford Exchange and Papermate Pen.
