Sportsman's Warehouse files for Ch. 11
Midvale, Utah Two weeks after announcing the sale of 15 stores and the closure of 23 others, sporting-goods retailer Sportsman's Warehouse has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in Delaware.
In its bankruptcy filing, the company listed liabilities of $452.1 million, compared with assets of $436.4 million. Officials blamed the company's cash-flow problems on poor sales and the global economic slowdown.
Sportsman's Warehouse will have 29 stores left when the sale and closures are completed.
