Speed Commerce taps former Oracle exec as VP of global sales and marketing
Speed Commerce, a leading provider of omnichannel e-commerce services, has appointed former Oracle executive Mark Steele as the company's VP of global sales and marketing.
Steele boasts more than two decades of sales experience with a proven track record of success in firms ranging from Global Fortune 100 to early and mid-stage venture backed startups.
Steele previously served as regional VP at Oracle Corporation where he successfully led the mid-market oracle commerce sales team in North America. Steele joined Oracle through the acquisition of Art Technology Group (ATG) where he spent five years prior in various sales and sales management roles working globally with leading organizations to deliver software and service solutions critical in the execution of their e-commerce strategy.
"Given Mark's strong industry background and success in delivering world-class e-commerce technology, he will play a key role in expanding our global sales and marketing reach," said Jeff Zisk, president of Speed Commerce. "His deep industry knowledge and proven leadership skills will benefit our expanding base of retail and manufacturing customers looking to grow their online business."
"Speed Commerce offers a unique value proposition that executives are looking for when it comes to selecting an e-commerce partner," said Steele. "By combining Oracle's world-class technology with its a-la-carte offerings — such as SaaS based order management, hosting and managed services, fulfilment and contact center services — Speed is truly an omnichannel provider capable of delivering the key components necessary to build a successful online business. I look forward to working closely with the team at Speed and driving value for our customers."
In addition to Steele’s appointment, Speed Commerce is also opening a Canadian office in Toronto. "Canada is a high growth market for online retail, extending our physical presence into Canada will allow us to better serve existing customers looking to sell into Canada as well as provide a foundation to drive further growth in that region," said Zisk.
