SIAL to expand fine food presentation

7/8/2008

PARIS SIAL Paris 2008, The Global Food Marketplace, to be held from Oct. 19 to 23, at the Paris-Nord Villepinte Exhibition Center, will offer an expanded presentation of wine and fine food. In 2006, according to IMEX Management, which promotes the show in the United States, visitors said they wanted to see an expansion of the wine and fine food element, and SIAL organizers responded with the additions and improvements.

The wine exhibition is getting an upgrade but will maintain a focus on its Best Buy selection. Show attendees can taste and learn about wines that offer good value under four price category headings: under €2, €2 to €4, at €4 to €6 and at €6 to €10.  SIAL will expand the Fine Food exhibition to better showcase key categories such as tea, chocolate, confectionery, olive oil and regional products.

In another new initiative, SIAL will for the first time offer an exhibition dubbed Retail World which will feature distribution concepts and solutions will be showcased along with the 248 competitors of the SIAL d’Or new products competition.

SIAL organizers anticipate 5,500 exhibitors and 140,000 show attendees from across the world.
