The number of retail industry innovators on the agenda for Shoptalk now exceeds 230 and organizers of the event slated for mid-May aren’t done yet.
Shoptalk organizers have released a final agenda for the first-of-its-kind event focused on “next-gen commerce,” that promises to attract 2,000 attendees in just its first year. While there are a few slots yet to be filled, the agenda is already replete with retail innovators from large established companies like Walmart, Target and Best Buy to direct-to-consumer companies such as Dollar Shave Club, Jet and Stitch Fix to unknown startups who will be vying for a $50,000 prize to fund pursue their dreams.
“We’ve spent more than a year researching the right topics and the people to address them with a goal of creating a truly unique opportunity for the industry to learn,” said event founder and chairman Anil Aggarwal. “We’ve been effective at letting the industry know about Shoptalk and are tracking way ahead of our capacity of 2,000 attendees.”
At that pace, Aggarwal could eventually see Shoptalk replicate the success he achieved with another event he co-founded called Money20/20. After selling his technology company to Google in 2012, Aggarwal built the Money20/20 event to be the leading event in the financial technology and payments space, attracting 10,000 attendees in just four years.
Shoptalk will be held at the Aria hotel in Las Vegas on May 15-18. For more details on Shoptalk, view the agenda or read Aggarwal’s comments shared in an exclusive interview with Retailing Today.
