Shopko launches e-commerce platform

Green Bay, Wis. Shopko Stores Operating Co. said Tuesday it has launched its new e-commerce business, which is accessible at shopko.com.

Shopko partnered with SpeedFC, a global e-commerce application platform and service provider for retailers, to advance the retailer’s online selling initiatives.

According to W. Paul Jones, Shopko president and CEO, "The timing of our new e-commerce web site coincides with the beginning of the very important holiday selling-season. This endeavor is an important part of our retail business going forward and we believe our e-commerce platform will enable us to better serve our customers as they have the option to visit our stores or shop online."

Shopko Stores Operating Co. is an affiliate of private-equity firm Sun Capital Partners. The retailer operates 136 Shopko stores and five Shopko Express Rx stores in 13 states.
