Shopko enters omnichannel era

Regional discounter Shopko has added a range of omnichannel capabilities to its retail operations just in time for what is expected to be the most digital Christmas ever.



Shopko announced the rollout of expanded omnichannel capabilities it said would provide shoppers more access to products, the ability to buy products on-line and ship them to store for free. The capabilities were extended to 310 of the company’s locations.



"We are excited to launch this program since customers have been asking for the ability to ship to store locations, " said Mike Sidders, vp of e-commerce at the privately held retailer. "Customers will love the expanded product assortment available from www.shopko.com and the option of shipping it to their nearest Shopko store for free."



The ship to store service is available on thousands of products in categories such as furniture, housewares, bedding, baby gear and furniture, seasonal and home decor, and jewelry. Shoppers who prefer the home delivery method can receive free shipping if their order value exceeds $75.



Shopko is a $3 billion retailer that operates 320 stores in 21 states spread throughout the Midwest, Mountain, North Central and Pacific Northwest regions. Its store base consists of 133 Shopko stores, five Shopko Express Rx stores, five Shopko pharmacies 177 small format stores called Shopko Hometown.
