Sears wants your opinion ... for charity
HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. — Sears is encouraging customer feedback for the products it sells by offering shoppers the chance to vote for their favorite participating charity every time they post a product review. Through its "Love/Hate: Share Your Thoughts, Send Some Love" project, Sears is offering customers the chance to share their opinion -- good or bad -- on products and in return vote for one of four charities to receive a grand prize of $100,000. The participating charities competing for the grand prize include the American Cancer Society, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, World Vision and World Wildlife Fund.
"Customer opinions are important to us at Sears. Good or bad, we want to encourage our online community to share their thoughts on our products," said Adriana Llames, division VP social media marketing for Sears. "The Love/Hate project will help us continue our commitment to providing products our customers love while helping to further the work of their favorite charities."
Through June 28, Sears customers can make a difference through the Love/Hate campaign by sharing their opinions on Facebook at http://on.fb.me/LoveHateCharity. Every two weeks Sears will make a contribution to one of the four charities, with the final grand prize charity receiving a $100,000 contribution that will be announced on Sears Holdings' Shop Your Waysocial commerce site at www.shopyourway.com. Leading up to the grand prize announcement, Sears will award the remaining three charities differing amounts based on the number of votes, totaling $48,000.
