Sears vet named chief merchant at True Value

CHICAGO Mike Clark, a 25-year veteran of Sears Roebuck & Company, will join True Value as senior vp and chief merchandising officer, effective May 19. Clark replaces Steve Mahurin, who, Retailing Today confirmed, left the company after four years to become evp of merchandising at Office Depot.

Most recently Clark was employed by Orchard Supply Hardware (OSH), an 85-store hardware chain in California. At OSH he oversaw all buying decisions, including assortment planning and management of vendor relationships as well as visual merchandising, merchandise marketing and inventory management.
