Sears Offers Coupons to Settle Suit
New York City, Sears Holdings Corp. is settling a lawsuit with former Sears credit-card holders by offering discount coupons to as many as 2.3 million customers, according to a report from Bloomberg News. The coupons, which will vary from $10 to $15, will be offered to those whose credit data was obtained by Sears after the retailer closed their accounts and sold them for collection. It’s unclear how many people will actually receive the coupons. The report is based on a filing from federal court in Riverside, Calif.
