Sears Holdings opens Pa. delivery center

HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. Sears Holdings has opened a new 1,000,000 square-foot direct delivery center in Gouldsboro, Pa. The facility will distribute home appliances, tractors, TV's and other large ticket items to local warehouses at more than 300 Sears and Kmart store locations in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and North Carolina.

"Sears is proud to continue the strong relationship between our company and the great State of Pennsylvania. This facility will allow Sears to expand our appliance distribution capabilities and moves us closer to our goal of becoming more effective and efficient," said Jim Mixon, senior vp of supply chain and logistics for Sears Holdings.

The center is expected to employ approximately 167 associates.
