Sears helps consumers reduce household carbon footprint
Hoffman Estates, Ill. Sears Holdings said Thursday it is launching new online services to help its shoppers reduce the carbon footprint in their own homes.
The online services, available at www.sears.com/green and www.kmart.com/green, provide interactive maps of the home with room-by-room options, from the attic to the living room to the basement, along with tips for making households more energy efficient. The sites include tips by climate zone; ecological kids’ tools and games; recycling hints, and suggestions for eco-friendly products.
“Both Web sites showcase green products that are categorized to green the home, and their lives,” said Mark Snyder, Kmart CMO. “The sites are a way to get everyone involved.
To further promote the program, Sears is offering a variety of discounts and services on energy-efficient products through June 30.
