Sears cuts more HQ jobs

HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. Sears Holdings, according to reports, implemented its second phase of layoffs, removing approximately 100 positions from its headquarters. The company cut about 200 jobs in February. In total, these eliminations account for about 6% of headquarter staff.

According to reports, the cuts were in a variety of departments including operations, logistics and store support.

Sears Holdings reported net income of $426 million, or $3.17 per diluted share, for the fourth quarter ended Feb. 2, compared with net income of $811 million, or $5.27 per diluted share, for the fourth quarter ended Feb. 3, 2007.
