Sears and Kmart designers team up at Design on a Dime benefit
HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. and NEW YORK Kmart and Sears will partner with Housing Works Thrift Shops to present the fifth annual Design on a Dime benefit event on May 7 to 9 in New York City.
Both Kmart and Sears will showcase four stylized vignettes with designs from their forthcoming fall 2009 home collections. The exclusive previews will celebrate the creative work of Jaclyn Smith, Ty Pennington, an impressive team of top designers from the Sears Holdings Home Design office, and a new collection from Country Living Magazine.
"In offering a preview of our fall inspirations, we get to extend what's normally an insider privilege to the public at large. We love that approachability, inherent to the event, and the way it's married to beautiful design," said Theresa Strickland, chief home design Officer for Sears Holdings. "We're thrilled to showcase our designers' abilities among such notable industry talent, and we can't imagine a better venue to premier our new collections - and an exciting new brand - while contributing to Housing Works' very special cause."
