Scovill Fasteners elects Gores exec to board
Scovill Fasteners, a developer and manufacturer of a diverse range of fasteners for apparel and industrial partners and part of the Gores Group portfolio of companies, has elected Gores executive James I. Pinto to its board.
“I’m pleased to have someone of Jim’s caliber and experience join our board, and am excited for our team’s opportunity to work with him,” said CEO Craig Stoudt.
Scovill serves a wide range of markets including fashion, infantwear, career apparel, jeanswear, leather products, sporting goods, military, marine and medical. In addition to fastener products, Scovill provides attaching equipment and technical support services.
“Over the last several months, Scovill has made tremendous progress as we have transitioned our organization forward by focusing internally on operational improvement and externally on providing the best possible experience for our customers. Jim’s background in operations and experience with best-in-class organizations will provide us with valuable insight as we continue our transformation and growth,” added Stoudt.

Pinto has held various operational and supply chain roles throughout his career across a variety of aerospace and industrial businesses including Textron Lycoming, Greenlee Textron and Textron Fluid and Power as well as Tyco International’s Electrical and Metal Products Business Unit. Pinto earned Six Sigma Greenbelt and Champion Certifications as well as an APICS certification in Production and Inventory Management. He has a B.S. degree in business administration/ operations management from Rowan University and a MBA from Sacred Heart University.
Founded in 1802, Scovill products include buttons, zippers, snap fasteners, grommets and washers as well as attaching machine equipment and technical service. In addition, Scovill offers custom metal stamping and surface finishing.
