Save-A-Lot expands in New Orleans
New Orleans Extreme-value grocery chain Save-A-Lot is opening three stores in New Orleans.
The new locations join four existing Save-A-Lot units in the New Orleans area that were rebuilt or renovated after Katrina. In addition, one of Save-A-Lot’s 15 distribution centers is located in nearby Hammond, La. About 100 employees have been hired at the three new stores.
The company said it is dedicated to supporting the communities of New Orleans that have been ignored or abandoned by conventional grocery chains, especially after the impact of Hurricane Katrina.
