Save the date: Diversity Forum in Dallas March 6-8

The Network of Executive Woman, or NEW, is holding a new event in Dallas next year and has signed on Walmart’s top diversity executive as a featured speaker.


Sharon Orlopp, global chief diversity officer and SVP corporate people for Wal-Mart Stores Inc., will headline the organization’s inaugural CPG Retail Diversity Forum scheduled for March 6 to 8 in Dallas. Orlopp was a human resources executive with an extensive career in the sporting goods retail industry when she joined Walmart in 2003 as a VP people. The following year she was named SVP people for Sam’s Club before being elevated to her current role. Prior to Walmart, Orlopp was VP human resources for Gart Sports, and she also spent 17 years with Foot Locker.


In addition to Orlopp, others scheduled to participate in the NEW diversity event include Tom Greco, president of Frito-Lay North America, Grant LaMontagne, SVP and chief customer officer with Clorox and Anthony Carter, global chief diversity officer for Johnson & Johnson. The program also features Cheryl Pearson-McNeil, SVP public affairs and government relations for The Nielsen Company, Linda Clement-Holmes, chief diversity officer and SVP global business services for Procter & Gamble and Lynn Fantom, chairman and CEO of ID Media.
