Sam’s Mart to install Gilbarco Passport PO
Greensboro, N.C. Sam’s Mart Corp. said Tuesday it will install Gilbarco Veeder-Root’s Passport point of sale system at an additional 80 corporate and dealer locations in the Charlotte and Atlanta areas this year.
According to the retailer, the added installations build on the base of stores that already have Passport, making the system the standard POS across the chain.
“We chose to standardize on Gilbarco Passport because it puts us in the best long-term position for PCI,” said Sam Nafisi, president of Sam’s Mart. “The architecture can easily accommodate future upgrades and new functionality without hardware changes. The strength of Gilbarco’s service and support convinced us that Passport is the best solution to meet our needs.”
Passport provides an intuitive touch-screen interface designed to minimize training time, errors and shrinkage. The POS provides seamless connectivity and standardization, business information and security features, business growth tools and expandability. Remote diagnostics enable most troubleshooting, fixes and software upgrades to be completed without on-site service calls and site downtime.
Sam’s Mart operates Shell, Sunoco and Texaco branded sites.
