6/9/2008

ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. Sam’s Club has partnered with Junior Achievement of Orange County to bring financial education into the classroom. Through the Wal-Mart Foundation, Sam’s Club donated $100,000 to JA of Orange County and for the third year in a row has provided associate volunteers to taught at Thomas Edison Elementary School in Anaheim, Calif. the basic concepts of business and economics.

Forty Sam’s Club associates worked with 425 students through the program.

"Sam's Club is so proud to support the Junior Achievement program because we truly believe in the importance of teaching children how to translate their education into the real business world," said Neil Sarreshteh, regional sales manager for Sam's Club. "To see first hand the impact this learning can have on students is a gratifying experience for our associates involved."
