Sam’s Club Realigns Store Management
BENTONVILLE, ARK. —Sam’s Club is making changes to its management structure that would eliminate approximately 250 positions, Wal-Mart Stores announced on April 26. The company said it is replacing five lower level management positions per Sam’s Club location with three new higher level and higher paying assistant manager positions. According to Sharon Orlopp, senior vp of Sam’s people division, associates were notified of the change March 6, and the company’s goal is to find positions for those affected by the situation. Wal-Mart expects the transition to be completed within the next couple of weeks.
