Sam’s Club improves application process for small business memberships

5/18/2009

Bentonville, Ark. Sam’s Club is simplifying the requirements for its business memberships by eliminating many required documents, such as permits and licenses formerly needed to join.

The revised process now merely requires a current business card, letterhead or other basic documents that smaller companies use to promote or manage their business.

The retailer said it believes its new guidelines will appeal to those with home-based businesses, independent direct-sales professionals, and women- and minority-owned small businesses.
