Sally Beauty 1Q Profit Climbs 13%

Denton, Texas Sally Beauty Holdings Inc. said Thursday its fiscal first-quarter profit rose 13%, helped by an increase in same-store sales.

Net income climbed to $16.1 million compared with $14.3 million in the same quarter a year earlier.

Revenue for the period ended Dec. 31 dipped 2% to $645.6 million from $655.8 million, hurt by a stronger U.S. dollar.
