Saks remodeling OFF 5th in Tanger Outlets

New York City Saks said that renovations are underway for the 24,700-sq.-ft. Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH store in the Tanger Outlets in Riverhead, N.Y.

The store, whose grand re-opening will be on May 27, is the first in the chain to receive a complete remodel to reflect the company’s new “luxury in a loft environment” design concept.

The new store will have a number of enhancements to create an environment that is easier to shop, including open floor plans, moveable fixtures, and brighter lighting. Additionally the renovation will allow the store to recapture about 25% of existing back-of-house space towards customer-facing selling space. This incremental space will allow the store to expand and further enhance its jewelry, shoes, sunglasses and skincare departments.

The remodel continues the growth of Saks’ OFF 5th format, This year, the company plans to open three other new stores, with locations in metropolitan Pittsburgh; Houston; and Mebane, N.C.
