Saks Fifth Avenue continues brick-and-mortar expansion

11/3/2016

Saks Fifth Avenue has opened its third location in Miami, and seventh location year to date, at the just opened Brickell City Centre in the city’s financial district.

The 107,550-sq.-ft. full-line Saks store offers a curated selection of both women’s and men’s categories, including several exclusive brands. An in-store open kitchen and marketplace — Casa Tua Cucina — is planned to open next spring. Also coming next spring is an outpost of John Allan’s, a premier men’s grooming club based in New York. The club will provide customers with hairstyling and shave services in a lifestyle environment featuring a bar and pool table.

“Saks Brickell City Centre marks our seventh new store this year, demonstrating Saks’ dedication to investing in the brick-and-mortar experience in our key markets,” said Marc Metrick, president, Saks Fifth Avenue. “Our third store in Miami deepens Saks’ dominance in the market, while at the same time is a distinct lifestyle destination for the downtown Miami customer.”

The store, designed by Saks in partnership with Jeffrey Hutchison & Associates, features a warm palette, accented with neutral tones, rich textures and unexpected pops of color. A three-story sculptural wall crafted by JP Metals Global unites the departments in the luxurious and timeless style Saks is known for.

Both the second and third levels feature commissioned hand-cast glass sculptures, which originate in the men’s area on the third level and cascade down to level two, weaving into the 10022-SHOE salon. The intricate design elements play off the clean, crisp lines of the overall store design.

“Saks is a timeless and iconic brand and we could not have chosen a better partner to take center stage as Brickell City Centre's anchor tenant,” said Stephen Owens, president of Swire Properties, the developer of Brickell City Centre.
