Saks Fifth Ave. to Close Ft. Lauderdale Location

New York City Saks Inc. plans to close its 73,000-sq.-ft. Saks Fifth Avenue store in the Galleria Mall in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.

The store, which is leased, is expected to close on July 20.

Approximately 60 associates are employed in the Ft. Lauderdale store. All affected associates either will be offered transfer opportunities or will receive appropriate severance packages.

The company operates ten other Saks Fifth Avenue stores in Florida and will continue to serve its many customers on the Eastern coast of Florida in its Boca Raton, Miami, Bal Harbour, Palm Beach, and newly renovated and expanded Palm Beach Gardens locations.
