Saks and Union Reach Deal in Manhattan

New York City, Some 160 cosmetics and fragrance sales associates and make-up artists of the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union (RWDSU) Local 1102 and the Saks Department Store at Fifth Avenue in New York City reached a contract after nearly two years of bargaining. The two-year contract was ratified by the membership today. According to the RWDSU, the Saks employees will receive a comprehensive grievance and arbitration procedure, seniority during layoff and recalls, guaranteed commission rates for sales associates, and wage increases for make-up artists.
