Safeway spent $310K lobbying government in Q1
Portland, Ore. Safeway spent $310,000 lobbying federal agencies in the first quarter, according to a recent disclosure report.
That's half what the grocer spent in the fourth quarter and less than the $350,000 it spent in the first quarter of last year.
The company lobbied on legislation involving food safety, health care, organized crime in retail and other matters, according to a report it filed April 20 with the House clerk's office.
Treasury, the Federal Reserve System and the White House Office during the January to March period.
