Safeway promotes healthy eating

PLEASANTON, Calif. Safeway Inc. has reportedly launched a new campaign to help its customers make healthier food choices. By using a color-coded system--a light blue circle means low fat, red means whole grain--with its Eating Right product line, Safeway is making it easier for shoppers to pick out items that best suit their dietary needs.

Safeway's Eating Right label first debuted a few months ago and includes items such as powdered soups, frozen dinners and cereals.
