Safeway Launches Disabilities Campaign
Pleasanton, Calif. Safeway is raising awareness for people living with disabilities. Through a partnership with Easter Seals and Special Olympics, the company announced it will launch a month-long campaign to raise money that will fund programs including regional rehabilitation and autism services, job-training grants, and sponsorships for athletes to participate in Special Olympics games countrywide.
Each year, all of Safeway’s banners spend five months, April through August, raising funds to help people with disabilities. Donations raised in April will fund Easter Seals-operated community disability centers that are located in neighborhoods that feature Safeway stores.
These facilities provide rehabilitation, training and autism services.
