Safeway converts entire fleet to biodiesel

PLEASANTON, Calif. Safeway announced this week that it has converted its entire U.S. truck fleet to biodiesel fuel.

The announcement was made at a conference highlighting Safeway's and other grocer's efforts to conserve energy and reduce carbon emissions.

According to reports, Safeways initiative makes it one of the first major U.S. retailers to convert its whole fleet to biodiesel.
