Rue21 reports strong Q3 results

Warrendale, Pa. Rue21 announced on Tuesday that net sales for the third quarter ended Oct. 31, increased $137.1 million, up 40.7% compared with $97.5 million last year.

Meanwhile, same-store sales for the quarter increased 13.5%.

The company reported net income of $6.0 million compared with $2.9 million in the third quarter a year ago.

The company opened 29 stores during the quarter, for a total of 534 stores.
