Rubbermaid added to assortment at Office Depot

BOCA RATON, Fla. — The storage solutions category at Office Depot got some new brand muscle this week as the company added Rubbermaid to the mix.



Rubbermaid products are now available nationwide at Office Depot stores and online at the retailer’s website. The announcement comes as promotional activity heats up around the back-to-college season which tends to start earlier and feature different product categories than K-through-12 back-to-school efforts.



“We are pleased to announce this strategic partnership with one of the leading organization brands in the U.S.,” said Kevin Peters, Office Depot’s president of North America. “The new relationship ushers in significant growth opportunities for Office Depot in the storage and organization category and beyond, as we explore additional avenues with the family of Newell Rubbermaid brands.”



The Rubbermaid products currently available at Office Depot include various sizes of the Roughneck, Action Packer and Cleverstore Totes. The company said it plans to expand the category with additional products, however as is always the case with space allocations, the degree to which the category is expanded further will be based on sales of the initial product offering.
