Rite Aid September sales up 52%

CAMP HILL, Pa. Rite Aid today announced that total drug store sales for the four-week period ended Sept. 29 increased 52% to $2 billion compared to $1.3 billion last year.

The company reported that same-store sales for September increased 0.7% over the prior-year period. Pharmacy same-store sales increased 1.3%. Front-end same-store sales decreased 0.5%.

For the year-to-date, Rite Aid reported that same-store sales increased 1.6%, consisting of a 2% pharmacy same-store sales increase and a 0.9% increase in front-end same-store sales.

 

Total drug store sales for the 30 weeks ended September 29, 2007, increased 31.4% to $13 billion from $10 billion in last year's like period.
