Rite Aid sees small same-store sales increases in April
Camp Hill, Pa. Rite Aid Corp. reported Thursday that the company recorded a 1.8% same-store sales increase for the four-week period ended April 25. April front-end same-store sales increased 3.2%, said the company, while pharmacy same-store sales increased 1.2%.
Total drug store sales for the four-week period were flat with sales of $2.003 billion, compared with $2.003 billion for the same period last year. Prescription revenue accounted for 67.8% of drug store sales. As of April 25, the company operated 4,846 stores compared with 5,026 stores in the same period a year ago.
