Rite Aid same-store sales slide in September
Camp Hill, Pa. Rite Aid Corp. said Thursday its same-store sales fell 0.3% in September as a slight improvement in pharmacy sales was more than offset by a drop in sales in the rest of the store.
Front-end same-store sales fell 2.3%, while pharmacy same-store sales rose 0.7%.
Rite Aid said its total sales fell 1.5% to $1.94 billion in September.
Year-to-date same-store sales fell 0.3%, while total sales for the year-to-date period slid 1.9% to $14.74 billion.
Rite Aid had 4,809 stores at the end of the quarter, down from 4,922 at the same time a year earlier.
