Rite Aid revenue growth helped by Brooks Eckerd
CAMP HILL, Pa. Rite Aid announced that revenues for the first quarter were $6.61 billion versus revenues of $4.43 billion in the prior year first quarter. Revenues increased 49.3%, primarily as a result of the acquisition of the Brooks Eckerd stores.
Same-store sales for the first quarter increased 1.5% over the prior year period
Net loss for the first quarter was $156.6 million or 20 cents per diluted share compared to last year’s first quarter net income of $27.6 million or 4 cents per diluted share.
