Rite Aid December Same-Store Sales Dip
Camp Hill, Pa. Rite Aid Corp. said Thursday its same-store sales fell 0.5% during December, due largely to a drop in front-end sales.
The company said its pharmacy same-store sales were flat, but front-end same-store sales fell 1.2%.
Rite Aid said total sales for the four-week period ended Dec. 29 rose 48% to $2.20 billion, compared to $1.49 billion in the same period last year.
The increase in total sales mainly came from stores that have been acquired since last year, including the Brooks/Eckerd stores it bought in June. Those stores were excluded from the same-store sales figures.
