Retail Stocks Decline 0.18%

New York City, Retail stocks in the Chain Store Age composite declined 0.18% on Friday, a weak performance compared to the 0.28% gain by the Dow Jones Industrial Average. Among the gainers were Smart & Final, up 2.8% to close at $12.59, and The Home Depot, which climbed 1.3% to $39.41; and Sears Holdings jumped 1.3% to $151.83 per share.

Gottschalks topped the day’s list of decliners, down 3.8% to $10.82. A&P declined 1.0% to $28.02.
