Retail Gift Card Association forms to better standards

MIAMI Best Buy and Home Depot have joined forces with Applebee's, Mariott International and Subway as founding members of the Retail Gift Card Association.

The Association is calling for policies that are in the best interest of the consumers and will limit membership to those who follow its standards.

In addition to strong, consumer-oriented guidelines for merchants, the Association will investigate new initiatives that will provide increased security against fraud and greater protection in the event of business reorganization or bankruptcy.
