Report: Weekly sales up 2.4%
New York City The International Council of Shopping Centers and Goldman Sachs released a report Tuesday showing chain store sales for the week ended Oct. 25 rose 2.4% from the year-ago period.
On a week-over-week basis, sales edged up 0.1%.
"The retail sales recovery continues with its fifth consecutive weekly increase," said Michael Niemira, ICSC's chief economist. He said he sees October sales to be flat and said retailers could likely beat that estimate.
