Report: Wal-Mart seeking more acquisitions

Bentonville, Ark. Wal-Mart Stores said Friday that it is on the hunt for acquisitions around the world. According to a report by MarketWatch, the world’s largest retailer is seeking to find growth overseas.

Doug McMillon, president and CEO of Walmart International, said he is looking at possible acquisitions in Russia and added that the retailer won’t rule out expansion in China, citing Tesco’s strategy for opening its own shopping center as a potential growth tactic for Wal-Mart as well.
