Report: Target joins Ariz. market for office furnishings

Target Corp. is expanding its office-furnishings store format in the Phoenix area, according to The Arizona Republic.

The company bought Walsh Bros. and US Business Interiors last year and has been converting the stores into office-furniture showrooms geared toward small and medium-size businesses.

The first Target Commercial Interiors showroom opened Tuesday in a former Walsh Bros. store in Phoenix. A Walsh Bros. store in Tucson and a former US Business Interiors location in Phoenix are set to open later this year under the new banner.

The stores carry commercial-grade Steelcase-brand office furniture, artwork, lamps, signage and accessories.

Target operates 13 business-interiors stores in Arizona, Wisconsin, Washington, Minnesota and Illinois.
